In case you are unaware, the MCAT is a test required by just about every medical college.   It consists of four parts including: Physical Sciences, Biological Sciences, Verbal Reasoning, and a Writing Sample usually consisting of two essay questions that you have to respond.   It is important to do well because a major portion of your admissions review is most likely based on your scores.   Your G.P.A. is also very important in the review process.

As part of the medical school application you will be required to write a personal statement.   This should be two to four pages of your philosophy of becoming a medical doctor.   Most application packages will have guidelines for you to follow for the personal statement.   You will also have to submit letters of recommendation as part of the application package.   Medical schools will differ in the exact details for the admissions policy but these elements are fairly standard for all medical schools.   Also, pay close attention to deadlines.   These are important as well for the admissions process.   Finally there is a price tag for applying.   Most medical school charge application fees ranging from $100 to $250 for submitting an application.   This is a non-refundable charge regardless of any decision on your application.
